How does innovation, entrepreneurship, social good, and sustainability fit together? What similarities do enterprise organizations and nonprofits share? Are there any approaches to working for social good that are shared between social enterprise organizations and nonprofits, or are they totally separate methods? In this workshop, participants will explore the central concepts of social entrepreneurship, discover innovative ideas from social enterprise organizations, and examine structures of social enterprise organizations to determine how social enterprise business models and practices align with nonprofit business models and practices.
At the end of this session, participants will:
· Leave with innovative ideas drawn from social enterprise theory and practice
· Complete a business model canvas that helps organizations rethink their business model
Capital and Consciousness: Social Entrepreneurship for Nonprofit Organizations is ideal for nonprofit staff at any level of experience who are interested in startups, business activation, social enterprise, and innovation.
